Javier Otero is part of a new generation of young Spanish pianists with national and international projection. He started his musical studies in his hometown (A Estrada – Pontevedra). Formed with pianists Nicasio Gradaille and Ángel González, he moved to the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid to study his superior studies with professor Almudena Cano.
It is at this stage that he studies his own personality as a pianist, based on a deep theoretical knowledge and an interpretive rigor, receiving advice from great pianists such as Vladmr Krpan, Christopher Elton, Boris Berman, Robert Levin …

He has performed live for Radio Clásica (RNE) and has participated in recordings for Croatian Television, Televisión Española (TVE) and Televisión de Galicia (TVG).
Especially noteworthy were his performances at the Juan March Foundation, the Instituto Cervantes in Tokyo and within the pianist cycle “Ángel Brage” of the Auditorio de Galicia, being the first Spanish pianist invited and the first Galician pianist to realize a tour with Real Filharmonia Of Galicia.
He has premiered works by various Spanish composers such as Fernando Buide, Octavio Vázquez and Juan Durán, and recently made the re-release of the unpublished piano music by Juan Montes.
He has two recordings: Impromptus (2015) and Galician Folk Songs (2016)
